One of the most important aspects of the Prestigious President's Award Program is for participants to assist communities in need. The founder of This is Cape Town has been involved in Community Service for almost two decades and her community service involvement is often covered by the media. She is regularly involved in community based projects in the most vulnerable communities. She runs and assists with various activities from soup kitchens to mobile libraries to community vegetable gardens to farm school support. Participants are guided to find worthwhile projects to get involved in, to help them fulfill the requirements of each level while helping them become active citizens within their communities.
